Philippa Hughes M.A.

From a Fine Art and Ceramics background, and following an MA in Glass, I use mostly cast and fused glass.  I enjoy exploring the contrasts in surface textures of other materials, contrasting the brittle fragility of glass with the malleability of clay, or the grain of wood and the solid earthiness of slate. I use a range of other techniques including sandblasting, engraving and enamelling to make unique pieces, and also a range of glass jewellery and handmade glass beads.
